Dear Alex

Myself and my family wanted to leave you a few kind words regarding the project you all worked so hard on for us. On the 26/8/25 after interviewing four building companies. I decided to hand KSGC the keys after long consideration and numerous phone calls and meetings.

Firstly the reason I chose KSGC was the fact Alex was the only builder to offer on site visits of previous works and ongoing extension works that he and his team have completed and were working on. We had the opportunity to meet and talk with the clients and also look at the works. We were pleased with the work and feedback.

Secondary, we were on a strict timescale as we needed to move my Mother in law in before Christmas so needed a wrap around extension for her new accommodation comprising of a living area, bedroom, wet-room and Kitchenette including a separate laundry area that was incorporated into the main house. Alex took this challenge and reassured us it would be done this was in our opinion not a small job as it also included two extra bathrooms.

Thirdly, whilst working on the extension we decided to completely rip out the original kitchen including all the flooring throughout the property plus remove a supporting front wall to accommodate a larger hallway for a wheel chair if needed. Also we then asked for the complete original house to be decorated on the lower level. Alex took the works on with a caviat that everything will still be completed by Christmas so we could all move in together. Already under extreme pressure to complete the first job Alex said yes it will be completed with this the new date to move everyone back in was set 20/12/25. Alex was very easily approachable to have open and honest conversations with when needed and reassured us all the way.

Lastly, on the 20/12/25, we moved Mum into our newly built and renovated family home with great emotion and joy. Without Alex and his constant updates on schedules of works including a daily report on what his team had completed and schedule of expectations for the following week none of this could have worked. Alex is a guy when he says things will be completed he means it a man of complete integrity, honesty and guy who gets over problems when they arise without hesitation even if its a cost to himself a real professional builder from start to finish someone who works tirelessly on your behalf to make sure things are done and done correctly. We would have no hesitation to allow future clients to view Alexes wonderful work if needed prior a decision who to pick for you next protect.

Alex has made our family so happy we cant thank him and his team enough.

Great service from Alex and his team, they worked continuously to deliver a full upstairs refurb, moving walls, adding new bathroom and sticking to budget. Will defo use again.

We engaged Alex at KSGC to replace (and enhance) our roof and carry out a first-floor extension to create a completely new internal layout, including a master bedroom, dressing room and ensuite bathroom. From start to finish, the build went very well and the project timeline kept broadly on track, despite the inevitable challenges that come with a job of this scale such as installing a large steel structure around a protected Oak tree and unexpected summer storms!

A particular strength was Alex’s input during the feasibility stage. He took the time to break the project down into the various workstreams, producing clear and detailed quotes alongside a well-structured timing and payment schedule. This level of transparency helped us get comfortable with the project early on, establish a fair market value, and provided a strong platform to work from. It also meant that any changes to scope or works could be discussed and tackled constructively as they arose, ensuring we maintained a positive working relationship.

During the build, Alex was excellent at managing the project, effectively acting as a dedicated project manager by coordinating the right trades at the right time and ensuring progress remained efficient. His approach differs from that of smaller builders who are on site and on the tools every day, but for a project involving multiple trades, materials, and parallel workstreams, this level of oversight proved essential. Alex was highly proactive in his communication, providing regular (often daily) updates on completed works, outlining what to expect in the week ahead, and actively seeking our input when decisions were needed. He was also on site for key inspections and always made himself available to meet with us, which gave us real confidence that the project was being closely managed at all times.

We’re delighted with the end result and would happily recommend Alex and Kent Specialist Groundworks & Construction.

Alex was recommended to me from a friend at Pay Less Builders as I needed an emergency roof replacement after Storm Bert nearly removed it and was way beyond repair, so apparently this was the guy for the job. I paid a small deposit to secure the job then we went over the design and his team got to work within a week and around Christmas time when it was cold, windy, icy and snowing. Alex and his team persevered, working through Christmas Eve to New Year’s Day to get it done and even came back one evening to put the plastic over the roof as it started heavy snowing. In short Alex was very thorough and understanding throughout, him and his team at KSGC went above and beyond to organise fit and fix my new roof through extremely challenging weather. They replaced my 80 year old dilapidated roof to a standard that the local planning enforcement officers complimented me on the finish and with consideration that I wasn’t insured, gave me a price that could not be beaten. From this experience me (and my surrounding residents) highly recommend this company for a superb job.

Alex and his team are highly recommended by our family. From start to finish on every job he’s done, including a new driveway and erecting a new fence in the garden, has been dealt with professionally and on time. Very friendly service, put my mind at rest on several occasions when I worried about things, nothing is too much trouble. He has also done a few smaller jobs for us too. Fabulous company, I wouldn’t use anyone else.
